SPORT NEWS: Atletico lost to a moment of Messi genius, says Simeone

The Argentine's second-half strike delivered the title to Catalunya and the beaten coach has taken the opportunity to congratulate Luis Enrique's men
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone believes that a moment of individual genius from Lionel Messi decided the game which won Barcelona La Liga.
The Argentine struck after 65 minutes at the Vicente Calderon to give the Catalans a 1-0 win and deliver the Primera Division title back to Camp Nou.

Simeone was magnanimous in defeat and remains satisfied with his side's efforts this season, even if they have fallen short of the standards they set themselves in recent campaigns.
"Before all else I would like to congratulate the champions," he told reporters.
"They are deserved winners. It must be nice for them to reclaim the trophy after having missed out last season. We lost this game because of a moment of genius from Messi.
"In 50 years, we have won two leagues. We have a lot of work to do. We are fighting to finish third; it’s very complicated to end as league champions.
"We will try to compete with the weapons we have. But looking at it realistically, we are still involved in an internal tournament of our own with Sevilla and Valencia.
"Whichever one of us gets into the Champions League will have deserved it. The Supercup might be a minor trophy for other clubs, but it is OK with us.
"We are still three points above Valencia. We have a wonderful final weekend of football to look forward to; the adrenalin will be pumping at every ground around Spain because the relegation battle will be decided.
"I would have settled to have got this far back at the start of the season."
