Four Killed and Several were left Injured as Unknown Gunmen Attacked Village in Kaduna

In Kaduna, on Monday unknown gunmen attacked a village called Gurguzu, near Maguzawa,  a place near Rigasa in Igabi Local Government Area, Kaduna State, Nigeria. 

The gunmen was said to have killed many persons and left many injured.
A source, said the number of injured persons are six while others said its more than six, no specific number has been given though.

According to GutsyNaija, it was learnt that some minutes after 6pm before they break Ramadan fasting on Monday, when the unknown gunmen rode on bikes and attacked a farm in the village and shot the farmers. Four died on the spot and several got injured.

An Online source said that the injured, were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

According to GutsyNaija, more than 500 people from the Village of Gurguzu were displaced and taking refuge at a primary school in Rigasa.

Although, the Kaduna State Government has sued for peace, urging residents to remain calm and go about their lawful businesses.
It said it had launched a manhunt for those who perpetrated the killings.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Abdullahi, confirmed the incident to newsmen shortly after the state security council meeting held at the Sir. Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna on Tuesday.
He said, “Around 17:50, that is 5:50pm yesterday (Monday), gunmen invaded the village on bikes and killed four farmers.They injured four others and those injured were rushed to the hospital.
“Immediately, we drafted our men to the area, calm has returned and our men are patrolling the whole place. Contrary to what is being circulated on the social media, this is what actually happened.”
Also, the Chairman, Interim Management Committee of Igabi Local Government, Jabir Khamis, said no fewer than 500 persons from the village had been displaced and “government is taking care of them.”
