Gunmen Abduct and Kill Four Policemen in Rivers State

According to News from The Punch, it read, heavily armed men suspected to be sea pirate have abducted and killed four marine policemen in Abonnema, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State South-South Nigeria.
The news read, that the policemen, who were on a duty patrol along the Abonnema Coastal Area, were ambushed and taken away by the suspected sea pirates.
Source gathered that one of the lifeless bodies of the policemen was found on Monday while the other bodies were recovered on Tuesday.
According to Punch News, the policemen were only the occupants of the gunboat when the sea pirates suddenly appeared and hijacked it shortly after it took off from the Abonnema Wharf.
Another source said, that another gunboat also left at the same time the ill-fated gunboat took off from Abonnema Wharf, had since returned.
According to Punch News, the first body that was recovered had gunshot injuries over his body.
In a statement from a source in Abonnema area said, “The gunboat was hijacked and taken away and we believe the policemen were shot by militants. This is sad news and we pray that those behind this will be brought to justice.
According to Punch News, when the report was been given the whereabouts of the hijacked gunboat was still unknown.
