National University Commission, NUC Approves Borno State University

The Executive Secretary, National University Commission NUC, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, according to source, has announced the approval of a new university in Borno State.
The university will be named Borno State University, Maiduguri, Rasheed explained that the new university was approved because it matched all requirement needed by the agency tfor the creation of a new university.
According to source, Rasheed made this when the governor of Borno State, gov. Kashim Shettima, led a delegation of the state to the NUC office on Monday.
Rasheed said the university was fully sanctified with infrastructures put in place for the take-off of the institution.
In his words he said, “Consequent upon the formal presentation of the relevant law, the academic brief and the physical master plan and satisfactory report, I write on behalf of the National Universities Commission to inform His Excellency, that with effect from Monday, November 7, 2016,  the Borno State University, located in Maiduguri, has been recognized by the NUC.”

Now in a review of the number of universities in Nigeria one can say it is 143 including the approval of Borno State University.
